Monday
Well.. we made it through the weekend. Exhibit A is officially 16! I cannot believe he is growing up so fast!!! He had some of his friends over and they stayed up all night. He got an iPod from his dad, who also managed to get a call in. The connection was awful and there was so much static and echoing.
I also went to my 20th high school reunion this weekend. It was ..um... memorable. It was nice to catch up and see the old faces. Some have changed.. most haven't ..even after 20 years. I was feeling a little out of place, though, sitting there by myself. It was hard to .. well.. not start delving into self-pity. I watched everyone have a blast, but I just pretty much sat on the sidelines. I do that a lot. Hard to explain. I spent most of my time talking to the wife of a classmate, whom I had never met before. I really feel I have very little in common with most of the folks I went to school with. I have more in common with the "townies" who pretty much never left. Everyone else lives in Dallas or Houston. Anyway, I have lots of email addresses and maybe we can keep in touch. Did get a message from another girl who is younger than me. She lives in Austin and is going through chemo right now. That was shocking to hear. I remember her fondly and hope she answers the email I sent her.
Well, enough for now.
I'm on vacation this week and need to tie up loose ends with the kids' school. Yes, we are still wrapping everything up. The boys' dad will be here for a vacation at the end of the month, and then we will probably start school again in mid-September once he heads back.
