I'm baaaaaack

I haven't blogged in sooo long. This morning Joyce messaged me. Seems her blogging is as sparse as mine these days.

What's been going on lately? Well..I now have a 16-year- old and a 14-year-old. We made it through birthday season. Well... almost... mine is next week. I'm getting so old :) I won't bore you with my thoughts of approaching middle age.

I can't believe how much my Ex. A looks like his dad, acts like his dad, and even writes like his dad. These days, Ex. B is my "what if" child. He is forever coming up with all kinds of weird scenarios, whether it is a movie plot, some weird scientific phenomenon that is circling around in his head, or if he just wants to make me chuckle. But Ex. A... he's going to be a comedian, I just know it. He keeps me in stitches. Yet another thing that reminds me of his dad.

Speaking of the DxH, he is back in the states for a couple weeks. He flew in this afternoon and stopped by briefly. We weren't really expecting him to get here until Friday, but he dropped me an email that yesterday or the day before that he would be here today. I'm glad we can be flexible and start schooling once he heads back to his job. I am sure he is glad we homeschool, too, if for no other reason.

The job is getting better. I worry that the other "shoe" will drop and all won't work out, but I think I just worry too much. I'm the type who worries if I don't have something to worry about. Anyway, so far, so good. As my friend has been telling me, it's all in His hands. I am so grateful to have her to rant and rave to, and for her to get me to "snap out of it."

I'm finishing up our lesson plans and gearing up for what I pray will be a good year. We had so many disruptions and things this past year: the boys' dad taking his new job, my switching companies and having to deal with all the newness of that and the stress, and not to mention two headstrong boys. Things have finally settled down a bit and I've been working on my organizational skills.

I'm sitting here enjoying my iTunes playlist. What is on my playlist? Funny you should ask.

Sweet Southern Comfort by Buddy Jewell
Wave on Wave by Pat Green
September by Earth, Wind, and Fire.
I Go Back by Kenny Chesney.
Rock the Casbah by the Clash.
New Kid in Town by the Eagles.
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes by the Platters.
Missing You by the Mavericks.
Add a lot of Mandy Barnett songs and a weird mix of obscure 80's songs, some Selena, and you get the idea.

Anyway. I felt the need to write something as I haven't in so long. So, there you have it. I'll try to get back into it. I haven't felt I had much to say, nor the time, but I have been keeping up with most of YOUR blogs :)
