Wictory Wednesday 9/29

In Alaska, incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski is locked in a tight race with former Democrat Governor Tony Knowles. The race is tight only because Knowles claims to be a "moderate." You know what that means, don't you? If he gets to the Senate, he'll raise your taxes, cut defense spending, block President Bush's judicial nominations, hug Michael Moore, and run for re-election every 6 years as a "moderate."

Don't let this happen! We don't need one more "moderate" Democrat in the US Senate for the next 30 years. You can help Murkowski by donating to her campaign today.

Today is Wictory Wednesday. Every Wednesday, hundreds of bloggers ask their readers to donate to an important Republican Senate campaign.

If you're a blogger, you can join Wictory Wednesdays by e-mailing me at wictory@blogsforbush.com. I'll add you to the Wictory Wednesday blogroll. I'll also send you a reminder e-mail every Wednesday, explaining which Senate candidate to support that day.

homeschoolers for Bush

came across this great site

"Getting George W. Bush elected is one of the major goals of Homeschoolers for Bush 2004. We have lots of work to be done in the next five weeks leading up to November 2nd. One often-overlooked part of the process is seeing to it that Americans are registered to vote. You'll see that each states requirements for people who want to vote in elections are different. While it may be hard to believe, not every eligible person chooses to register to vote. Be active in this election by helping to get people registered. "

another world

I was flipping through blogs and came across this soldier's blog with pictures of Afghanistan. There was a picture of a little girl that really jumped out at me. We are so blessed to live in this country.

Speaking of the middle east, I wonder what it is like where my ExDH is. He writes now and then and things seem to be going well. I send him pics of the boys and "normal life." A boy in our scout troop has his father over in Iraq, who was just wounded by a roadside bomb. Still waiting for more news than that. We had our youth group meeting last night and so many fathers are in Iraq or Afghanistan. We are praying for all of them to return safely.

Sunday morning

They were predicting rain this weekend, as the remnants of Ivan hit Texas, but I just opened the front door and it is a gorgeous morning!

The boys got back from camping last night. It did rain a bit out there, but it was more of a mist than anything else. They had a blast camping. My friend and I managed to hike out to my favorite spot when I dropped them off. The waterfall was back (they had been draining the "lake" for renovations, and it was all dried up.) It was breathtaking as ever. We stood there in awe of it for a while, and I got some great pictures.

I stayed up late last night scrapbooking. So many memories. I've had boxes of pictures forever and stashes of paper/stickers/embellishments that I would use when "I get around to it." Later, I was telling the boys, "Remember this?" or "Look at this one." This was met with the usual eye-rolling. They are such teenagers.

So this morning..we go to Mass and then I will sit down and figure what I am going to do with myself this next week with my newly-found temporary freedom :)
